Liberabit is the platform of the University of Salerno that hosts and manages the multi-domain cultural heritage of the University’s libraries and archives.

It is a meeting point for collections, fonds, holdings, and periodicals, offering the opportunity to gain a broad and structured view of the documents and digital objects that are part of the cultural heritage of this University.

Liberabit pursues two objectives:

• to provide a new structure for existing digital collections
• to create the conditions to host new digitization projects and born-digital materials.

Developed in an open-source environment and based on DSpace-GLAM, it ensures the long-term preservation of digital objects and collections. Data sharing and interoperability are guaranteed through the use of open standards and formats. The integration between DSpace-GLAM and the IIIF ecosystem provides engaging navigation features that are at the same time highly effective for research and study.
