Liberabit is a digital library that is continuously expanded with new documents by a group of librarians from the University Library Center (CBA), professors, and highly qualified staff involved in all digitization and metadata creation processes, with the aim of enhancing and preserving the book heritage owned by the University and acquired through donations of collections from distinguished members of the community closely connected to the University of Salerno.

These fonds are cultural libraries with unique and distinctive features, organized within the repository into monographs, periodicals, personal documents, and manuscripts.

The visibility of these materials is ensured through the creation of:

• Projects: The Centenary of the Great War and Salernum.
• The former originated from the University Library Center’s participation in the official program of commemorations for the Centenary of the First World War promoted by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers; the latter derives from publications belonging to the “Giovanni Cuomo” Teacher Training Institute (Istituto di Magistero Pareggiato) and highlights the strong connection between the University and its local area, such as the Salerno through Images collection.
• Archives: archival fonds are constantly expanding and include documents belonging to internationally renowned figures linked to the local area, such as the writer Domenico Rea and the engineer Giuseppe Giordano.
• Paths (Exhibitions): these are divided into permanent and temporary exhibitions, reflecting the many activities of the physical library in the digital environment and creating innovative reading and interaction pathways.
